Are you getting enough?

I know that a lot of you are out there training your hearts out and really get a good sweat going but at the same time I am seeing a lot of people that are not reaping the fruits of their labour.
It’s so great that everyone is getting into a healthy mindset if only to get in shape for summer. More and more people are outdoors going for runs or joining sport teams to increase activity and have fun.
Many people get into the mindset of exercising more and eating less to lose weight which seems to be an ongoing mentality for a lot of people. Unfortunately for most of them they end up putting the weight back on after they either stop exercising or start eating ‘normal’ food again.
My main message today is to ensure you’re fueling your workouts adequately.
Here’s a simple exercise, look at your daily activity and find out how much energy it requires to fuel your body for any given day and write down what you’ve eaten for that day just to see if you’re getting enough.
Here’s a formula to workout your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR):
For men: BMR (REE) = 66 + 13.75(weight) + 5.0(height) - 6.76(age) For women: BMR (REE) = 655 + 9.56(weight) + 1.85(height) - 4.68(age)
Results are in Kcals. Keep in mind that this is the minimum Kcals your body requires just to stay in bed so make sure you’re getting more than this specially if you’re exercising!
Have a great day!
